'Meet the Putmans' Stars Say 3 Family Members Died in Car Crash
The Putmans are a large family that was featured on a 2017 TLC reality show called Meet the Putmans.
The show "followed Bill and Barb’s extended multi-generational family of 25 as they lived under one roof," according to Deadline. The family also starred in a YouTube series called Growing Up Putman.
Now, a tragedy has struck the family.
The Putmans posted a lengthy message to their Instagram page on September 27, confirming that three family members had died and five were injured in a car crash.
“I come to you with a heavy heart asking for your prayers. Our family was in a tragic car accident, and we lost Papa, Neenee, and Aunt Megan. They have gone home to be with the Lord,” the post reads. “Please keep Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah and Gia in your prayers as they remain in the hospital. We are asking for complete healing and strength for each of them.”
The Message From the 'Meet the Putmans' Family Is Filled With Religious References
The message continues to explain the importance of religion in the family’s lives, and quotes a Bible verse, John 14:27.
The YouTube series' caption says of the family: "Bill and Barb Putman believe a strong family bond can occur only if everyone stays together -- literally. The Putmans head a household where three generations live in the same 35,000 square foot house."
“That you for every prayer, message and act of love,” the post continues. “Your support means more than words can express. Please continue to lift us up, that our hearts remain fixed on the truth that Jesus conquered death so we could have eternal life.”
The family asked for prayers “as we walk through this deep loss. Even in this valley, we will praise Him. We trust that His plan is perfect, and that one day, we will be reunited in Heaven.”
