I don't think last night was as awful as people are saying. Maybe I have just watched too many years of us being really terrible, so desensitised to it all, but whilst not good enough, I don't think it's as bad as being made out.

Other than two awful pieces of defending, we controlled the game. A mistake and a lapse in concentration gave them two goals. Could have been 2-0 just before they scored their first and 2-1 just before they got their second. Those being the Stanno blocked shot and Kyogo's 1 on 1.

I agree forward play looked disjointed at times - but it will with 4 of your front 6 being new signings who have not played much together. People want these players to play so we need to give them time to gel.

Points per game we are there or thereabouts for making 6th place and we have not even clicked yet. I have confidence that once we do, we will finish top 10 at least.

This all said, CD needs to quickly find a way of making it work and finding a team that gels. Either a set XI that suits the traditional style or a new style that fits his current personnel.

The 'I want him gone' brigade have short memories, you can be critical of a manager in games without wanting him sacked. Surely last year shows that he is the right man for the job but we are in a transitional phase and need to back him to turn it round.
