Dutchess Co. man accused of threatening to kill Congress member
CLINTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Clinton man has been arrested after allegedly making terroristic threats toward a member of Congress, according to New York State Police. Christopher Moynihan, 34, faces a felony charge.
State Police were notified by the FBI on Saturday that Moynihan had made threats to kill a member of Congress. The identify of the Congress member allegedly being threatened will not be released, authorities told NEWS10.
The 34-year-old was arrested following an investigation and charged with making a terroristic threat, a Class D felony. He is being held at the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $30,000 bond or $80,000 partially secured bond, and is expected to reappear in court on Thursday.
