Bears sloppy, but still rolling Saints 20-7 at halftime as defense roars
It hasn't been pretty, but the Bears are up 20-7 on the Saints at halftime Sunday at Soldier Field.
Both teams have been sloppy, but the Saints are one of the worst teams in the NFL and it's shown. The Bears turned both of their takeaways — a strip-sack by defensive end Montez Sweat on quarterback Spencer Rattler and cornerback Nahshon Wright's interception — into points.
In addition to the two turnovers, Saints are 1-for-6 on third downs and have 104 yards of offense at the half. Rattler has completed 9 of 17 passes for 144 yards with an interception for 66.8 passer rating
Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has struggled as well and went into halftime 8-for-17 passing for 97 yards and a interception for a 40.6 passer rating.
Running back D'Andre Swift has been the bright spot offensively with 10 carries for 48 yards and a touchdown, and wide receiver DJ Moore has two catches for 32 yards.
