NY temps will stay below 60 degrees this week
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Expect a mix of sun and clouds along with unseasonably cool conditions on Sunday.
Afternoon highs will only be in the mid to upper 50s. Some locations in central and southern New Jersey could reach or exceed the 60-degree mark.
Look for the below-normal temperatures to stay in place through the upcoming week. Afternoon highs are only expected to be in the low to mid-50s.
The region will stay on the dry side Monday through Wednesday, but some wet weather is likely on Thursday and Friday.
For those following Hurricane Melissa in the Caribbean, it is currently a dangerous Category 4 storm with maximum sustained winds of 140 mph. The hurricane is expected to make landfall in Jamaica sometime tomorrow night and cause catastrophic flooding. Some areas could see over two feet of rain.
