‘Weak against left-arm…’: Former Indian captain points MAJOR flaw for women’s World Cup final vs South Africa

0

Indian women and South African women’s team are set to face each other in the final of the Women’s ODI World Cup in Navi Mumbai. However, ahead of the clash, former captain Anjum Chopra has pointed out one major flaw that might trouble the Women in Blue in the title decider.

Even though the Indian team is riding on successfully chasing a record-breaking total to beat seven-times champions Australia in the semifinal, Anjum Chopra believes that the Women in Blue have been troubled by left-arm spin.

Talking about bowlers. India have been weak against left-arm spin. I wouldn’t call it a weakness because if they played with caution, it wouldn’t have been a problem. India knows how to play spin,” Chopra said on her YouTube channel.

If we match, South Africa and India both have capable players. Both have batting and bowling depth. South Africa have a deeper bowling unit. India fielded six bowlers in the semi-final and are likely to keep it the same. South Africa’s bowling might be deeper but India have the home advantage,” she added.

Speaking about South Africa, they have two left-arm spinner sin their lineup namely Nonkululeko Mlaba and Chloe Tryon. Malba has even brought decent outcomes for the team, securing 12 wickets in the tournament so far- including a four-fer against New Zealand.
