Terrell Jennings’ Mom Has Heartwarming Reaction To Patriots’ RB’s First NFL TD
The New England Patriots pulled out their sixth-straight win in Week 9 when they handed the Atlanta Falcons a 24-23 loss. Several players stood out for the Pats in this win, but one of the more unexpected contributors was running back Terrell Jennings.
With Rhamondre Stevenson missing this game due to a toe injury, Jennings was signed from the practice squad to the active roster to fill in behind TreVeyon Henderson in the team’s running back room. Jennings responded by racking up 35 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, while also catching one pass for another nine yards.
The touchdown just so happened to be the first of Jennings’ young career, and it’s safe to say his family and friends were excited for him after this major accomplishment. On TikTok, Jennings’ mother shared a heartwarming video of her reaction to her son’s touchdown.
Jennings’ path to success in the NFL hasn’t exactly been straightforward. He didn’t get selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, but he ended up latching on with New England, and he spent the majority of the campaign on the team’s practice squad.
With Antonio Gibson suffering a torn ACL in Week 5 that ended his season, Jennings has taken on the role of the team’s No. 3 running back. He has proven that he can rack up yardage on runs in between the tackles, and he can hold up in the pass game, whether it be as a blocker or a receiver.
Even if Stevenson returns to action in Week 10, Jennings figures to have a big role on the Pats’ offense moving forward. New England will look to earn its seventh-straight win when it takes on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in its next game.
