New 'Battlefield 6' Update Fixes Massive Issue

0

A new update is now live for Battlefield 6, and it is aiming to address some fan concerns regarding multiplayer progression.

Announced in an X article by the official Battlefield Comms account, developer DICE has stated that experience points earned in official matches has been increased, and the amount of experience points needed for the first 20 attachment ranks has been reduced.

"This update makes significant reductions to challenge requirements, cutting down on time investment while maintaining a focus on skill-driven progression that rewards consistent play." The statement continues, "Challenges and Assignments are tuned around defined playtime targets, and these changes bring their requirements in line with those goals to make them more achievable within a reasonable session length."

Battlefield Comms confirmed the update is live today, so players logging in on all platforms may need to download the automatic update before resuming play.

More changes are expected in the future. DICE has stated, "we wanted to get the first set of changes into your hands as soon as possible while we prepare further game updates."

The update is massive. In this first set of changes, there are over 90 updates and adjustments that have been made to Challenges and Assignments. Class Challenges for Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon have been streamlined. The Assault 2 challenge now only requires 5 teammates to spawn using the class's Spawn Beacon tool, for example. Before, the challenge required 50.

DICE is also encouraging players to provide feedback as further improvements are made. The post also reminds players that the updates and changes made to multiplayer are fluid and could change based on player feedback.

Battlefield 6 has had a strong launch, with the game having an all-time player count of over 650,000 players, according to Steam Charts. That number does not reflect the console versions of the game or other PC platforms. With so many players engaged with the game, this new update will likely bring some players back, as the multiplayer reward progression has been criticized by a lot of fans.

With more updates on the way and an impressive player count, Battlefield 6 may be on the way to becoming the multiplayer game to play for the rest of 2025.
