Paltry offerings
Hello Friends,
Given conditions yesterday evening, I’d hoped for a little more energy this morning. Sadly it was not to be. The scrappy, weak but waist to chest-high bumps have given way to scrappy, knee to waist-high dribble this morning. 9-11 kts of ESE wind and showery grey skies aren’t helping the cause either.
The 0500 MHL buoy data showed 1.6 metres of 8-second period mix of SE to E energy. From the shape of the Bureau’s marine forecast this morning, it doesn’t look as though we can expect any significant improvement tomorrow. But maybe on Monday with a shift to SW wind and an increasing south swell component, there just might be something to tempt surfers.
As for the rest of the work week, the outlook isn’t too bad for this time of year. The models are showing favourable morning winds and around a metre or so of SE energy to keep it interesting. If the more hopeful predictions come to pass, we could be heading into next weekend with close to 2 metres of 10-11 second period SE swell…
Go well everyone!
