Israel carried out strikes in Lebanon on Sunday, killing civilians in Beirut as well as a senior Hezbollah commander. It was the most significant attack since last year’s ceasefire, which Lebanon says has now been violated. In a separate development, an internal IDF review has acknowledged failures surrounding the events of 7 October. Israeli law requires a full, independent inquiry, but how far this one will actually go remains an open question.
