The Assam Government has accepted 52 recommendations from the Biplab Kumar Sarma Committee regarding Clause 6 of the Assam Accord, students body AASU said. These proposals aim to safeguard the cultural, social, and linguistic identity of Assamese people. While the Citizenship Amendment Act remains a point of contention, the government plans to implement the approved points in phases.
