'Keep an eye' on Stephen Miller tipping off Trump's next move: ex-US attorney

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller and his wife appear to be signaling upcoming Trump administration policy initiatives through public statements and social media posts, according to former U.S. Attorney Joyce Vance.

Writing on her Substack platform, Vance suggests that Miller—whom Steve Bannon has characterized as Trump's "prime minister"—effectively directs the administration's policy trajectory, with Trump following his lead.

Vance cites the administration's renewed interest in acquiring Greenland as a case in point. The initiative had been dormant until Katie Miller posted an image of Greenland overlaid with an American flag, ominously captioned with the word "Soon."

Vance characterizes Stephen Miller's approach as centered on power consolidation. "Listen to Stephen Miller, because he signals where Trump is headed. It's all about power, U.S. power. Donald Trump's power and Stephen Miller's power."

Observing that "Miller is always in step with Trump, even when he's explaining what he needs," Vance advises monitoring Miller to understand the administration's direction. "If you want to know what issues Donald Trump is being exposed to and how he's being steered toward what he'll do next, keep your eye on Miller."

Recent social media activity provides additional indicators. Late Thursday evening, Katie Miller posted another signal suggesting the administration intends to maintain aggressive ICE operations despite the shooting death of 37-year-old Renee Good. Miller criticized ChatGPT as "woke" for attributing responsibility for the killing to the administration's anti-immigrant policies.

As Vance concluded, "Miller is the train conductor; he's the guy who tells us where Trump is headed next."
