A special Pocso court in Berhampur has handed a 30-year-old man a 20-year rigorous imprisonment sentence for the 2024 rape of a 14-year-old girl in Ganjam district. The court also imposed a Rs 5,000 fine and ordered Rs 10.50 lakh compensation for the victim. The judgment followed testimony from seven witnesses and medical reports.
