'The Pitt' Season 2 Scene that Left One Star with "Nightmares" and Fans Stunned

0

If you’re a fan of The Pitt, then you know the award-winning medical drama tends to opt for the most realistic depictions possible. At times, the episodes are like watching TLC’s infamous Untold Stories of the E.R. How can The Pitt audience ever forget the Season 1 scene where a childbirth was depicted? (I, for one, wasn’t prepared for the visual and don’t know if I’ll be able to forget it.)

With that being said, it looks like the powers that be at The Pitt are keeping the ball rolling with the shocking scenes. Episode 2 of the new season, "8:00 A.M.," dropped on January 15, and it’s got people talking thanks to a certain prosthetic. (Spoiler Alert)

'The Pitt' Has an Erectile Dysfunction Case and a Fake Penis

In the episode of The Pitt Season 2, a patient named Mr. Randall (Christopher T. Wood) arrives at the emergency room having been erect for eight hours. The patient took a double dose of an erectile dysfunction injection to celebrate his wedding anniversary with his wife. Doctors King (Taylor Dearden), Langdon (Patrick Ball), Santos (Isa Briones), and newcomer Al-Hashimi (Sepideh Moafi) are all assigned to Mr. Randall’s care at some point.

However, in the scene that has tongues wagging, Dr. King, Dr. Santos, and Dr. Al-Hashimi decide on the course of action to treat Mr. Randall’s penis, and that’s when viewers get a full view of the erection. Well, the prosthetic erection that is. Making the visual even more shocking was seeing Dr. Santos stick a big syringe in the prosthetic to draw out the blood. (I found myself cringing emphatically.)

'The Pitt' Cast and Fans React to the Scene

Moafi shared with Variety, “I remember that scene very well. I have nightmares about that scene. Supriya Ganesh, who portrays Dr. Mohan, wasn’t in the scene but stated, “Every day I thank my lucky stars I was not in that. I don’t think I could have kept a straight face.”

Now, as far as fans, they certainly were taken aback by what they saw. Here are some of the more tame reactions found on X (formerly Twitter).

The Pitt Season 2 continues to roll out new episodes on HBO Max on a weekly basis. You’ll need a subscription to watch.
