Rachel Bilson Talks Co-Parenting with Ex Hayden Christensen, Says 'We Get Along Very Well'

Rachel Bilson is sharing some insight into her co-parenting relationship with ex Hayden Christensen.

If you forgot, the 44-year-old The O.C. actress and the 44-year-old Star Wars actor dated from 2007 until 2017 and share 11-year-old daughter Briar Rose.

While appearing on Kristin Cavallari‘s Let’s Be Honest podcast on Tuesday (January 20), Rachel shared an update on how co-parenting with Hayden is going.

Keep reading to find out more…“Great,” Rachel said of their relationship. “Ours is like a unique version of it, we get along very well. We do a lot of stuff together. A lot.”

“We have been able to keep it very copasetic and nice for her,” Rachel emphasized.

The Hart of Dixie actress went on to note that the fact that she and Hayden were never married worked out in their favor when it came to figuring out a custody arrangement that worked best for them.

“We weren’t ever married so we figured out our own way, our own path,” Rachel said.

As for the advice she would share with others that are trying to co-parent, Rachel said it would, “communicating and sometimes you have to compromise a lot.”

Rachel also shared that she has remained very close with Hayden‘s family following their split.

“I’m really close to his family,” she said. “And it’s been almost 19 years or something, which is a long time.”

Later during her appearance on the podcast, Rachel revealed that Briar isn’t fazed at all by her parents’ fame.

“For my daughter, both of her parents are in the business. Especially her dad will get recognized, and it doesn’t even register with her,” Rachel shared. “It’s kind of like it is what it is. She has a really good attitude about it, and I’d like to say not affected.”

She added, “We’re just mom and dad, it’s definitely good.”

Back in August, Briar made a rare public appearance alongside Hayden at a Chicago Cubs baseball game!
