I’m no tactical mastermind, but the way I saw yesterday is that Stoke largely got their press right, forcing us to go long more often than not. Credit to Robins and the players they had available for that. A number of times we tried to play out and got nowhere.

Our obvious out ball was Osman, who had Thomas on toast, and as they were tiring, taking him off was inexplicable. If it was pre-planned, it shows a serious lack of in-game nous.

Beadle’s kicking doesn’t lend itself to a successful long game, hence the game petering out a bit.

I did enjoy their keeper stealing 5 yards on a free kick and then putting it straight in touch, made me laugh.

Some encouraging signs from the new lads, hope it gels quickly.
