Paul Dano Breaks His Silence After Quentin Tarantino Slams Him as 'Weak' & 'Uninteresting' Actor

Paul Dano is reacting to Quentin Tarantino‘s nasty diss.

In an interview from last month, the 62-year-old filmmaker slammed the 41-year-old There Will Be Blood actor’s acting skills, calling him a “weak and “uninteresting” actor.

Ahead of a 20th anniversary screening of Little Miss Sunshine at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, Paul was asked about Quentin‘s criticism.

Keep reading to find out more…Before Paul had a chance to speak, his co-star Toni Collette jumped in, telling Variety, “Are we really going there? F–k that guy! He must’ve been high… it was just confusing. Who does that?”

While Paul didn’t address Quentin‘s comments directly, he did say that he was grateful for all of the actors and Hollywood figures that spoke out to defend and support him.

“That was really nice,” Paul said. “I was also incredibly grateful that the world spoke up for me so I didn’t have to.”

Little Miss Sunshine directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris also weighed in the Quentin‘s comments, with Jonathan calling them an “embarrassment,” before adding, “I can only think that his rawness of his performance made Tarantino uncomfortable. He couldn’t be easily filed.”

Valerie noted, “You know what was interesting was the people coming out to defend Paul. There was immediately… he is loved by so many. He is so smart.”
