A spokesperson for the Orange County Sherriff’s Office said that she was “dangerously tailgating and travelling across lanes of travel to pass other motorists.”
According to NBC News, Florida’s super speeder law criminalizes driving 50 mph over the speed limit or over 100 mph. A first conviction carries a prison term of 30 days or a fine of $500.
In August, Sha’Carri was arrested and charged with fourth-degree domestic violence and assault after a verbal altercation with her boyfriend Christian Coleman allegedly turned physical at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
Currently, she is still in custody and being held on $500 bond.
The professional athlete previously won silver in the 100 meter and gold in the 4×100 meter relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
