Dexter's David Zayas to Replace Timothy Busfield in 'Law & Order: SVU' Guest Role

The shelved episode of Law & Order: SVU will air later this month with a new actor in Timothy Busfield‘s role.

After a warrant was issued for Busfield‘s arrest last month, NBC decided to pull an episode of the long-running series that featured him as a guest star.

Busfield has been accused of sexually abusing two boys, who were allegedly 7 and 8 at the time, on the set of The Cleaning Lady when he was directing an episode in 2022. He turned himself in and has since been released from custody while awaiting trial.

THR reports that Dexter actor David Zayas will be stepping into the Busfield‘s role on SVU.

The episode, titled “Corrosive,” will now air on February 26.

In the episode, “An attempt on a respected judge’s life is connected to an anonymous video posted to the SVU tip line. Rollins (Kelli Giddish) tries to help a victim come to terms with their abuse.”

Busfield‘s wife Melissa Gilbert recently released a new statement.
