Anthony Edwards Takes Hilarious Jab At Jaylen Brown Ahead Of All-Star Game
The Boston Celtics will be represented by Jaylen Brown during the upcoming NBA All-Star Game festivities, and it seems like he’s having a great time being surrounded by some of his peers from across the league. However, he ended up catching a hilarious stray from superstar Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards on Saturday.
With Jayson Tatum watching from the sidelines as he recovers from a torn Achilles tendon, Brown has put together the best season of his career for the Celtics (29.3 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 4.7 APG, 48.3 FG%). Not only is he an All-Star, but Brown has been playing so well that he’s earning MVP consideration.
Considering how this is his fifth All-Star selection, Brown is becoming quite familiar with some of the other perennial All-Stars. That group includes Edwards, although it sounds like he may have some underlying issues with Brown, as he picked the C’s stud as the one All-Star from this season that he wouldn’t let date his sister.
“These boys ain’t no sharks, so I ain’t really worried about none of these boys, but Imma go with Jaylen Brown,” Edwards said. “He from the city, he can’t date my sister.”
Edwards is obviously just having a little bit of fun with this question, but Brown is a pretty surprising answer. At least publicly, Brown doesn’t have a lengthy dating history, and he’s notorious for being one of the smartest players in the league off the court.
Chances are Brown won’t take this to heart, although it could be used to fuel his fire the next time he squares off against Edwards and the Timberwolves. For now, Brown will continue enjoying the All-Star festivities before returning to action with Boston next Thursday.
