Donald Trump and Melania look utterly miserable in their Valentine’s Day post

The White House released an official Valentine’s Day card, featuring Donald and Melania Trump – only, they don’t look too happy.

Pictured holding hands and walking, with serious expressions on their faces, the photo was captioned ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’.

The couple’s expression has been the source of conversation since the release of their holiday card.

The last few weeks have been a rough ride for the President and First Lady, as they grapple with the ongoing drama from the released Jeffrey Epstein files.

Some online took the Valentine’s Day post as a chance to poke fun at the situation, sharing doctored images of Trump walking alongside Epstein, or ‘redacting’ his face in the photo as a nod to the redacted files.

The Trump Administration also took time to make custom Valentine’s Day cards, including ones with Nicolas Maduro.

The photo of the ousted Venezuelan President, blindfolded and handcuffed, was captioned: ‘You captured my heart.’

Another showed a photo of Senator Chris Van Hollen when he visited ICE detainee Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador.

That was captioned: ‘My love for you is as strong as Democrats’ love for illegal aliens’.

Another caption said: ‘I’d fly 1,537 miles to have a drink with you!’

Last but not least, a card showed the map of Greenland in a heart captioned ‘It’s time we define our situationship.’

One Valentine’s Day Card referenced Trump’s ongoing want for Greenland (Picture: White House)

The President has never been shy about his desire to claim Greenland, a semiautonomous territory of Denmark, as his own.

But in the years since the president first offered to buy the island nation in 2019, his campaign has escalated dramatically in recent months.

Greenland sits in the Arctic Circle, where world powers, including China and Russia, have been jostling for military control, and for good reason: Controlling Greenland would give a nation an outpost in a vital naval corridor connecting the Atlantic Ocean and the Arctic.

Scores of rare resources are locked inside Greenland, with 31 out of 34 materials that Europe sees as ‘critical’ being found there.

On top of cobalt, nickel, copper and titanium-vanadium, the island is also rich in gold, platinum and diamonds.

Many metals are used to make batteries, electric vehicles and other high-tech items. It may also have pools of oil and gas.
