Apple FM goes from hospital wards to castle gates

Apple FM will relocate to a new town centre base at Ina’s Cottage in Taunton.

The long-established community radio station is moving from its studios at Musgrove Park Hospital to the late 18th or early 19th century building, which once served as a gatehouse to Taunton Castle.

Broadcasting on 97.3FM, Apple FM has served Taunton and the wider Somerset community for decades. The station began life as Taunton Hospital Radio and has been part of the hospital community for more than 55 years.

Managing Director Greg Perkins said: “This amazing offer to home Apple FM at Ina’s Cottage by Mambo enables our community radio station to continue its work in providing local radio for Taunton, supporting and entertaining our community.”

Greg said the move ensures the station can continue broadcasting local content from a central location, maintaining its role in supporting listeners across the area.
