Italy hero Donnarumma decisive again with Manchester City last gasp save
Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma was again decisive with a sensational last-gasp save, as Manchester City beat Sandro Tonali’s Newcastle United in the Premier League.
The result was hanging in the balance after a Nico O’Reilly brace, around the temporary Lewis Hall equaliser.
In the final moments of the match this evening, Harvey Barnes thought he had managed to get Newcastle back on level terms again for 2-2 when hitting a sweet strike.
However, he hadn’t counted on the incredible reflexes of Azzurri hero Donnarumma, who flew to palm it out of the bottom corner.
Donnarumma keeps City in title race
Manchester City fans went wild on social media, noting it was the second time he made a match-saving intervention deep into stoppages after the one against Liverpool.

His teammates also recognised what that save meant to keep the title race alive, rushing to hug Donnarumma after the final whistle.

Not all fans are happy with the situation, as some continued to criticise his poor distribution from the back, but this has always been an issue in his game going back to the days at Milan.
As one Manchester City supporter rather oddly put it, “all he has is generational shot saving.”
