Ryobi Just Unveiled Its Latest AWD Cordless Mower

Ryobi recently unveiled its lineup of new cordless electric mowers, and the brand is upping the ante with the launch of its newest all wheel drive mower, the Ryobi 40V AWD self-proppelled mower. 

The AWD design makes it ideal for anyone who has slopes to contend with in their yard. One of the coolest features gives the lawn mower the ability to toggle the AWD on or off on the fly via two paddle shifters. This feature makes it easier to navigate around landscaping or drop it to two wheel drive to save battery life when on flat terrain. The mower also automatically alters its self-propelled speed to match your pace.

The mower also features Ryobi’s new Cut Command Center, which consists of a display and controls located at the center of the handle bar. The center shows battery life and blade life and has button controls for mow speed, engine start, headlights, and drive type. 

The mower is produces cutting power that’s on par with a 196cc gas lawn mower, and it has a versatile 21-inch blade that can mulch or crosscut.  

Depending on how you set its blade speed and its drive, the mower can run for up to 75 minutes on a single charge, which means you can cover up to 3/4 of an acre. 

It’s also equipped with an LED headlight and is part of Ryobi’s Whisper series line, so you can mow at night without upsetting your neighbors. When you’re done mowing, the handle collapses for more compact storage. The Ryobi 40V cordless AWD mower isn’t cheap at $849, but worth the investment if you have hills to mow.
