The mass shooter who killed at least two people and injured 14 others at an Austin, Texas, bar early Sunday has been identified as a naturalized citizen from Senegal who wore an undershirt with an Iranian flag on it and a hoodie with the message, “Property of Allah.”

The bloodshed that broke out just before 2 a.m. at Buford’s Backyard Beer Garden near the University of Texas-Austin took place within hours of the U.S. military’s Operation Epic Fury against Iran.

The gunman who had a Quran in his car was ultimately shot and killed by local police. He has been named as 53-year-old Ndiaga Diagne, a former New York City resident who was living in Pflugerville, Texas.

The FBI is now investigating Sunday morning’s horror as a potential act of terrorism.

“We’re just, at this point, prepared to say that it was potentially an act of terrorism,” said FBI Acting Special Agent in Charge Alex Doran.

“There were indicators that on the subject and in his vehicle that indicate potential nexus to terrorism.”

“Again, it’s still too early to make a determination on that.”

“We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this tragic incident and thank the Austin Police Department for their swift response in addressing the threat,” the FBI said on X.

“The FBI responded alongside the Austin Police Department to the shooting that occurred early this morning in the 600 block of Rio Grande St. in Austin, Texas, deploying multiple resources, including our Evidence Response Team. Our Joint Terrorism Task Force is jointly investigating this incident in close coordination with the Austin Police Department. This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Additional information will be shared as updates become available. If you have any information that may assist with this investigation, please contact the FBI at http://tips.fbi.gov or call 1-800-CALL-FBI (225-5324).”

U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, addressed the bloodshed at the bar, and blasted Democrats in Congress as “grossly irresponsible” for delaying funding for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

“In my back yard just last night,” he told Harris Faulkner of Fox News, “we had an event that possibly could have been terror-inspired right here in Austin, Texas, the same city where the would-be assassin of the Saudi ambassador in the Georgetown restaurant came out of. This concerns me on the homeland front with regard to sleeper cells in the United States from Iran to hit the target list.”

“I see it as a real threat across the country, and it is so irresponsible to hold up that funding.”

Is the news we hear every day actually broadcasting messages from God? The answer is an absolute yes! Find out how!
