How the Lewis Family have reacted to Amanda Staveley's £3 billion Tottenham plan
A famed investor is ready to push through a mammoth deal to buy Tottenham Hotspur from ENIC, but there is one problem.
The Lewis family have rejected multiple expressions of interest in taking over Tottenham since Daniel Levy was ousted last summer.
There have even been reports of a £4.5 billion attempt to purchase Spurs by a consortium headed by Brooklyn Earick, but nothing concrete has materialised.
It has now emerged that one of the original investors to show interest in Tottenham Hotspur are back and now have the funding to push through a deal.
Amanda Staveley wants to buy Tottenham, but there is one problem
According to a report in TEAMtalk, Amanda Staveley and her husband, Mehrdad Ghodoussi, are keen on buying Tottenham through their consortium, PCP Capital Partners.
It is revealed that they now have the funding in place of more than £3 billion, and Staveley, who helped oversee the takeover of Newcastle by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, is now ready to return to football.
Ghodoussi and Stavely are keen to invest in a sizable Premier League club, and they have ‘Tottenham firmly ‘in their crosshairs’.
However, the report reveals that the Lewis family are not convinced about the idea of relinquishing their ownership of the North London club.
PCP Capital partners will not wait indefinitely for the Spurs owners to change their mind
TEAMtalk explain that the Lewis family’s stance has caused the move to ‘stall’, with PCP still waiting for a positive response from the Spurs owners.
Tottenham remains the priority of Staveley and Ghodoussi, but the duo are not prepared to wait indefinitely for the Lewis family to make a final decision.
They are ready to look at other opportunities across the top-flight if the Lewis family do not show an inclination to sell the club.
