David Archuleta Shares Insight into His Friendships with RHOSLC's Heather Gay & 'Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' Star Jessi Ngatikaura
David Archuleta has formed sweet friendships with Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Heather Gay and Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jessi Ngatikaura.
All three celebs have former ties to the Church of Latter-Day Saints, which is what cemented their bond.
David said he met Jessi recently, telling Us Weekly he appreciates how “vulnerable, open and messy” she’s been “in front of everybody.”

He had her host one of his book tour nights in Salt Lake City. His latest book is a new memoir titled Devout.
“That was really cool,” David shared.
He continued, “We gained this special connection with each other, having both been raised Mormon and leaving our religion and trying to bring awareness to things that usually people just try to sweep under the rug or try to pretend are not there in our religion, in our culture and in our families.”
“I feel like we’re having really productive, important conversations, especially for our Utah families,” the “Crush” singer added.
With Heather, David said, “Heather Gay and I have become friends, just because, as I came out. I didn’t watch Housewives, but she kept saying, ‘I’m so happy for you.’ She would comment on, like, every post that I had, and I was like, ‘Let’s invite her to a show.’”
She accepted his invite and went to one of his concerts, later gifting him copies of her two memoirs and he later sent her a book, too.
“She’s just been so supportive the whole time. It’s just great to find people who are in front of everyone and get what it’s like to be watched, and have everyone involved in your business. It’s been fun,” the former American Idol finalist gushed, also adding that they’ve become texting buddies and they’re “constantly cheering each other on.”
David has been very raw and candid in his new memoir, opening up about choosing to be homeless during the height of his American Idol fame. Read more here.
