Yes, Amazon has been down on Thursday, March 5. According to research from Down Detector, shoppers are having problems, and there are more than 20,000 reports on the site about issues ranging from not being able to purchase anything to not seeing Amazon reviews to problems with product listings.

According to Down Detector, the outage happened around 1:55 p.m. ET, and it's impact both Amazon's mobile and desktop apps. While some customers are getting an error screen, others are able to look at the site but not make payments. One user said they weren't able to use their gift card balance or change  payment methods. Another user said they simply couldn't check out with the items in their cart.

"Nothing works at all. Can't pick up my packages at the locker. Can't order anything," one user said on Down Detector.

Amazon Users Say They Have Issues With Product Pages

"Product pages all have the sad dog pics with error messages. Search seems to work, but then the product pages are empty and error out. I tried about 20 different items... only dogs. Cute dogs, but dogs nonetheless," another said.

"I can't access Amazon on Android or Windows right now. Every time I try it just fails. It's bound up with your account because the site without you logged in works. Seems like a major server issue," one more added.

"Trying to access an order that's coming next week and see 'We're unable to load your order details,'" another stated.

The site appeared to be back up heading into 3 p.m. EP, but reports went back up again just after, so Amazon is still working on the issue.

It can be frustrating to deal with a site being down, especially one as big and important as Amazon. But, the good news is that they're working to fix the issue, so things should be back up soon.
