A trailer truck carrying iron rods plunged into a ditch in Hazaribag's Danua Bhanua Ghati, killing the driver, Pankaj Kumar (35), and helper, Satish Kumar (20), on the spot. The vehicle lost control on a slope around 8:30 am, with the entire load of rods burying the occupants.
