A man has been charged in an Avalon Park stabbing Sunday, according to Chicago police.
Nigel Burwell, 45, faces a charge of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery, police said.
Burwell, of River North, is alleged to have stabbed a man in the 8200 block of South Stony Island Avenue shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday, inflicting “critical injuries,” police said. Burwell was arrested a block away from the scene minutes later.
He is due in court Wednesday.
