Maxx Crosby Shares Major Personal News Day After Botched Ravens Trade

0

The Las Vegas Raiders shocked the football world this week when the team revealed the Baltimore Ravens "backed out" of a trade for star pass rusher Maxx Crosby.

"The Baltimore Ravens have backed out of our trade agreement for Maxx Crosby. We will have no further comment at this time," the Raiders announced in a short statement on Tuesday. Baltimore initially offered two first-round picks for Crosby, who is recovering from offseason knee surgery.

The Ravens already knew Crosby underwent surgery, but ultimately didn't feel comfortable giving up two first-round picks for the star player after a medial evaluation.

Maxx Crosby Celebrates Major Personal Milestone

Just a day after learning he wouldn't be traded, the Raiders star pass rusher took to social media to celebrate a major personal milestone. Crosby celebrated six years sober on March 11.

"3/11/20. 6 Years Sober. God Doesn’t Make Mistakes," he said in a message on social media.

His wife, Rachel, offered a message of support and congratulations for her husband.

"Our man is six years sober," she said. "None of this could have happened if you didn't check yourself into rehab six years ago. We are proud of you daily! Your hard work and dedication doesn't ever go unnoticed. Ella and I love you so much baby!"

Why Did The Ravens Back Out of the Deal?

After news broke that the Ravens backed out of the deal, Crosby's agent, CJ LaBoy revealed, "Maxx continues to be on track in his recovery and if anything is ahead of schedule according to his surgeon Dr Neal El Attrache. Maxx remains on track to return during the offseason program."

However, according to a report from the Athletic, "the Ravens' doctors — along with multiple independent ones — reviewed Crosby’s MRI. They were unified in the belief that Crosby’s short-term outlook was positive, but there were concerns about the long-term prognosis of Crosby’s knee."

In the end, Baltimore backed out of the deal and signed former Cincinnati Bengals star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson instead.
