Dem rep says Republicans 'afraid of women voting'

TheHill.com

Rep. Katherine Clark (D-Mass.), the No. 2 House Democrat, slammed the GOP-backed voting bill that the House is set to vote on this week, claiming it was meant to suppress a major Democratic-leaning voting bloc: women. “This is not about protecting our elections. Republicans are not truly afraid of non-citizens voting, which we all know...

BOS looked great. He looked quick, made several excellent attacking runs, and looked exactly the player we all want him to be.

Wagner excellent again, and his set piece delivery is fantastic.

Osman and Dimmy are going to be some combination down the left.

Priske looks raw but has bags of potential. Seems to be getting sharper every appearance. He won a bunch of headers, and looked like he could become a real focal point for us up top.

And another game unbeaten. Читать дальше...

We're miles more threatening now than we ever have been previously under CD

Atmosphere (19 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Not sure what’s happened but last couple of years the atmosphere has been shocking.

I sit in the Kop and I had people telling me to sit down for corners in front of us.

Next to no singing, people on their phones all game after singing and filming KRO before the game kicks off.

West Brom at home under Eustace was absolutely rocking with some of the stands missing.

Near full house and the atmosphere is once again really flat.

I raised this last... Читать дальше...

Re: Atmosphere

Small Heath Alliance

I don't think it's isolated to blues. Atmospheres are going the same way across football in this country

But we also tend to romanticise the past. We remember the big occasions, the nasty atmospheres, and we forget the times the ground was half empty after 70 mins. We definitely had plenty of flat drab atmospheres, we just don't hold onto those memories as fans because why would you

Re: Seung-Ho Paik

Small Heath Alliance

First off I will say i genuinely rate Doyle as a player, he’s not been great lately but I do like him.

But…. He needs to play in a 3 man midfield imo to get the absolute best out of him, since Solis has come in, even in the first couple of sub appearances you could just see a balance to the team that hadn’t been there previously and he and Paik complimented each other perfectly.

I felt we had just got on top in the game before Paik took his injury, obviously we will never... Читать дальше...

EU lawmakers back tougher asylum rules allowing fast-track rejections

France24.com (en)

EU lawmakers on Tuesday approved changes to the bloc’s asylum system that would allow fast-track rejections and the transfer of asylum seekers to countries deemed “safe”, a move that marks a sharp hardening of European migration policy and has drawn strong criticism from rights groups.

Stanno/ priske (10 replies)

Small Heath Alliance

Thought it was telling how little impact on the game either had Priske’s disallowed goal apart.

The 2 goals in the cov game & stannos goal last week show how much we need to utilise intelligent play through the lines more & not over rely so much on wingers.

Re: Stanno/ priske

Deckchair

Stansfield is a difficult one as he offers so much off the ball. He was poor tonight. His touch isn't the best so he struggles in conditions such as tonight.

We don't play through the lines enough. Priske is on the shoulder, looking for ball to be slipped through. Kyogo was the same.

Carrick frustrated by Man Utd's lack of sharpness in West Ham draw

France24.com (en)

Carrick's side were well below their best for long periods in east London and trailed to Tomas Soucek's 50th minute strike. United needed Benjamin Sesko's equaliser deep into stoppage-time to avoid the first defeat of Carrick's five-match reign as interim manager. Although United retained fourth place in the Premier League thanks to Sesko's dramatic leveller, Carrick conceded there was a lack of cohesive play in the final third from his team. "I think we were a little disappointed and we were definitely not at our best. Читать дальше...

Frank confident of keeping Spurs job despite Newcastle defeat

France24.com (en)

Spurs slipped to 16th in the Premier League, just five points above the relegation zone with 12 games remaining. They are not in action again for 12 more days until they host local rivals and league leaders Arsenal. Frank explained that he spoke with the club's hierarchy on Monday and does not expect the situation to change before the north London derby. "We understand we are not in a top position and we need to do everything we can to get out," said the former Brentford boss. "I understand the... Читать дальше...
