Data leak: Kazakhstan citizens will receive notification via eGov

Tengrinews.kz – The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry has made another statement regarding the reported leak of personal data of nearly all Kazakhstan citizens.
It was announced that the Information Security Committee under the Ministry, together with relevant law enforcement and special agencies, is conducting a thorough investigation, including an analysis of the relevance of the leaked data.

"Preliminary analysis suggests that the data may have originated from private information systems. No hacking or personal data leaks from government information systems have been recorded at this time," the Ministry stated.

The Ministry emphasized that it is premature to draw final conclusions or confirm the authenticity of the information before the investigation is complete.

"Citizens whose personal data is found in the leaked database will be notified via their personal account on the e-Government portal," the Ministry added.
