Scorching heat and strong winds expected across Kazakhstan on July 19
Tengrinews.kz – Much of Kazakhstan will experience intense heat and gusty winds on July 19, according to the national weather service Kazhydromet.
In Astana, temperatures will range from +15°C at night to +23°C during the day, with occasional rain, thunderstorms, and hail. Wind gusts may reach up to 20 m/s.
Almaty will see no precipitation, but sweltering heat is expected with daytime temperatures between +36°C and +38°C. Light winds may strengthen to 13 m/s during the day.
In Shymkent, the forecast calls for extreme heat with daytime temperatures soaring to +41°C. Winds could reach up to 20 m/s.
Abai region will face scorching conditions, with temperatures peaking at +42°C in the south. Thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected in western and northern areas.
Almaty region will also see temperatures up to +42°C in some areas, with brief mountain rain and storms.
Akmola, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, and East Kazakhstan regions will experience cooler conditions with rain, thunderstorms, hail, and possible squalls. Temperatures will mostly stay below +30°C.
In the western and southern regions such as Atyrau, Aktobe, Mangystau, Kyzylorda, Turkistan, and Zhetysu, the heatwave continues with daytime highs reaching +43°C. Dust storms are expected in Kyzylorda and Turkistan.
Ulutau region will see a mix of sun and scattered thunderstorms, with daytime highs of +34°C.
Weather authorities warn of hazardous conditions in several regions due to high winds, extreme temperatures, and severe storms. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged sun exposure, and secure loose outdoor objects.
