Middle East сonflict: minister brings “closed skies” map to the government
Tengrinews.kz – Minister of Transport Nurlan Sauranbayev printed out a map from the Flightradar website, which tracks aircraft flights around the world, and brought it with him to the government meeting.
At a government briefing, the minister was asked how Kazakhstanis had managed to return from Dubai the day before, given the closed airspace in the Middle East countries.
Answering this question, Sauranbayev showed the map of the closed skies. It appears he decided to prepare thoroughly for the press conference on this pressing topic.
“Here this entire area is closed. Almost 10 states in this region have closed their airports. Strikes were carried out specifically on airport infrastructure. And today the flights that are being allowed are single, isolated ones. A special route is assigned: it goes toward Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and one route goes out through Turkey. The second route - if the aircraft departs - again goes toward Saudi, and then via Pakistan and on to Kazakhstan. These are the two main routes being considered,” Nurlan Sauranbayev said.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Arab Emirates has indeed closed its airspace. At the same time, passengers who already had tickets were able to depart on Flydubai flights, as the airline has permission to evacuate people.
Earlier it became known that Flydubai plans to operate two flights to Astana and Almaty during the night of 3 March.
As explained by the press service of the Civil Aviation Committee, the departure of flights FZ1395 Dubai – Astana (170 seats) and FZ1533 Dubai – Almaty (170 seats) is planned.
