Kazakhstan joins Peace Council without financial contribution — Foreign Ministry

0

Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstan joined the Peace Council without any mandatory financial contributions, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Yerlan Zhetybayev.
According to Zhetybayev, joining the Peace Council aligns with Kazakhstan’s national interests and fits within the country’s foreign policy course aimed at promoting dialogue, supporting international security, and strengthening multilateral cooperation.

"The Head of State described it as a timely initiative aimed at achieving practical and rapid results. As our President noted, peace must be built not through meaningless declarations but through practical steps," he said.

Responding to questions about financing, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that Kazakhstan did not contribute any funds upon joining.

"Kazakhstan joined the Peace Council without any financial contribution. The voluntary contribution of one billion dollars mentioned in the charter is not a condition for membership. It is the right of each participant," Zhetybayev stressed.

Commenting on reports about the possible deployment of a military contingent to Gaza, Zhetybayev urged reliance on official sources. According to him, the discussion concerns only the humanitarian component.

"In his speech, the Head of State said that Kazakhstan is ready to support international stabilization forces by sending medical units with a field hospital, as well as observers from the civil-military coordination center," the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.

In addition, Kazakhstan is ready to provide humanitarian aid in the form of food supplies, allocate 500 educational scholarships for Palestinian students to study at Kazakh universities over five years, and share its experience in the field of e-government.
Earlier, at the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council in February, Trump expressed sincere gratitude to all participants for their contribution to collective efforts aimed at ensuring sustainable stability and supporting reconstruction in Gaza.
Introducing the leaders of the countries participating in the Peace Council, Trump described Kazakhstan as a beautiful and wealthy country.
It should be recalled that in January, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the charter of the Peace Council, created at the initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received an official invitation from Donald Trump to join the newly established Peace Council on Gaza, with Kazakhstan proposed as one of the founding states.
The Peace Council, as envisioned by Washington, will be responsible for strategic oversight, mobilizing international resources, and monitoring the implementation of commitments for Gaza’s peaceful development.
