August will begin with a drought: which regions of Kazakhstan are at risk

Tengrinews.kz — Several regions of Kazakhstan are expected to experience atmospheric drought in August. This is the preliminary forecast, according to Kazhydromet.
According to meteorologists, the most unfavorable conditions are forecasted for:

Bokey Orda and Zhanybek districts of West Kazakhstan Region;Shalkar and Irgiz districts of Aktobe Region;
Kurmangazy district of Atyrau Region;
Alakol and Aksu districts of Jetisu Region;
Moiyinkum, Korday, Sarysu, Talas, Shu, Zhambyl, and Baizak districts of Zhambyl Region;Arys, Sozak, Ordabasy, Shardara, Tyulkubas, and Baidibek districts of Turkistan Region;Aral, Kazaly, Karmakshy, and Shieli districts of Kyzylorda Region, as well as the city of Kyzylorda.

Meanwhile, moderately humid conditions are expected in the Timiryazev and Yesil districts of North Kazakhstan Region, as well as the Uzunkol and Kamysty districts of Kostanay Region.
In the rest of the country, preliminary data indicates that moisture conditions will be close to the climatic norm.
Defining atmospheric drought
Atmospheric drought occurs due to a prolonged lack of precipitation, high air temperatures, and low humidity. Such conditions can adversely affect crop health, pastures, and overall yields.
Kazhydromet emphasized that the forecast is preliminary and will be updated throughout the month as necessary.
