MFA reports search for another Kazakh woman in Nepal

Tengrinews.kz – Two Kazakh citizens are being searched for after a natural disaster on the border between Nepal and China, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
According to preliminary information, the women may have been in the flood zone.

“A search is currently underway for two citizens of Kazakhstan who are believed to have been in the natural disaster zone on the border between Nepal and China. As reported earlier, one of them crossed the border between the two countries as part of a tourist group. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan is working with local government agencies and remains in contact with the relatives of our compatriots,” the ministry said.

As a reminder, a large-scale flood occurred on August 26 on the border between Nepal and Tibet. A powerful flow of water, mud and debris hit settlements in the valleys of the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers, destroying houses, roads and bridges. Hundreds of people died in the disaster, while hundreds more are listed as missing.
Earlier, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry reported that one of Kazakhstan’s citizens was among those missing in Nepal. According to preliminary information, she was part of a tourist group that crossed the border from Nepal into China.
