Electric utilities on heightened alert as Hurricane Matthew approaches S.C. coast

Moncks Corner-based Santee Cooper now is on "Condition 2" alert status, which means there is the potential for disaster-level conditions within the next 24 hours and adverse impacts to the electric utility’s service area appear likely.
