Nine highways closed due to severe weather in Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz – Nine highway sections in the Akmola Region and North Kazakhstan Region have been temporarily closed due to worsening weather conditions, citing KazAutoZhol.
Akmola Region
Starting from 12:20 PM on February 16, traffic for all types of vehicles has been temporarily restricted on the following sections of national highways:
Shchuchinsk – Zerenda (km 0–77)
Kokshetau – Ruzaevka (km 0–61)
Astana – Kokshetau – Petropavl – Russian Federation border (km 232–304)Kokshetau – Kishkenekol – Bidaiyk – Russian Federation border (km 14–51)Kokshetau – Atbasar (km 0–184)
Astana – Kokshetau – Petropavl – Russian Federation border (km 304–341)
North Kazakhstan Region
Also from 12:20 PM on February 16, traffic for all vehicles has been prohibited on the following sections:
Kokshetau – Ruzaevka (km 61–91)
Astana – Kokshetau – Petropavl – Russian Federation border (km 341–367)Kokshetau – Kishkenekol – Bidaisky – Russian Federation border (km 50–85)
The estimated reopening time for the highways in both regions is 9:00 AM on February 17.
