WhatsApp prepares major update with redesigned chat gallery

Tengrinews.kz – WhatsApp is testing a major redesign of its in-chat media gallery, introducing file-type filters, an updated header and quicker access to stickers, according to WABetaInfo.
The update focuses on the media section inside chats, where all shared photos, videos, GIFs, documents and links are stored. The new interface aims to make browsing and managing files significantly easier.
What will change
The redesigned gallery will include several new features:

The chat name displayed in the header, allowing users to immediately see which conversation the media section belongs to.
Filters by file type, enabling users to view only photos, videos or GIFs without scrolling through the entire gallery.
A separate filter for stickers, making it easier to find older stickers and quickly add favorites.
Existing filters for links and documents will remain available.
A full gallery view without filters, keeping all content accessible in one list.

Who can test it
For now, the update is available to a limited number of users:

Some iOS beta testers via TestFlight.
Selected users running the latest version of the app.

WhatsApp has not yet announced an official release date for all users.
Earlier, the company also revealed another long-awaited feature — the ability to make calls directly from the web version of the application.
