Tokayev sends congratulatory telegram to Emperor of Japan

Tengrinews.kz – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a congratulatory telegram to Emperor of Japan Naruhito on the occasion of his birthday, the Akorda press service reported.
Tokayev expressed confidence that the multifaceted cooperation between Kazakhstan and Japan, based on friendship and mutual support, will continue to develop dynamically for the benefit of both nations.
The President wished Emperor Naruhito success in all his endeavors and extended his wishes of prosperity and well-being to the friendly people of Japan.

Emperor Naruhito was born on February 23, 1960, in Tokyo. He graduated from Gakushuin University with a degree in history and later studied at the University of Oxford, earning a master’s degree in history. On January 7, 1989, he was proclaimed Crown Prince. He ascended to the throne on May 1, 2019, becoming the 126th Emperor of Japan, with the official enthronement ceremony held on October 22, 2019. The Emperor of Japan performs exclusively representative and ceremonial functions.
In December 2025, Tokayev paid an official visit to Tokyo, which began with a meeting with Emperor Naruhito.
At the time, the President noted that the Land of the Rising Sun has inspired the people of Kazakhstan for many years with its discipline and resilience.
During the visit, Tokayev also held talks with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, took part in the “Central Asia – Japan” summit, met with Kazakh citizens working in Japan, and visited Meiji Jingu Shrine, where he left a note in the guestbook.
