Intense heat: what weather to expect in Astana and Almaty

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet forecasters have issued the weather forecast for Almaty and Astana for August 13, 14 and 15. According to the forecast, the heat will intensify in Almaty, while temperatures in Astana will rise to +34°C.

Up to +34°C in Astana

August 13: Partly cloudy and dry weather is expected in the capital. Temperatures will range from +11°C to +13°C at night and rise to +29°C to +31°C during the day. Northeasterly winds will reach 3–8 metres per second at night and 9–14 metres per second during the day.

August 14: No precipitation is expected. Temperatures will range from +16°C to +18°C at night and +32°C to +34°C during the day. Northeasterly winds will reach 9–14 metres per second.

August 15: Daytime temperatures will remain at +32°C to +34°C. Rain and thunderstorms are forecast for the second half of the day. Northeasterly winds will shift to southeasterly, reaching 9–14 metres per second.

Almaty to heat up to +37°C

The heat will be more intense in Almaty.

August 13: Partly cloudy and dry weather is expected. Temperatures will range from +21°C to +23°C at night and +34°C to +36°C during the day. Forecasters expect intense heat.

August 14 and 15: No precipitation is expected. Nighttime temperatures will range from +23°C to +25°C, while daytime temperatures will reach +35°C to +37°C. Southeasterly winds will shift to northwesterly, reaching 3–8 metres per second.
