Temperature to drop to +10 in Astana, heat up to +37 to persist in Almaty

Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet forecasters have presented the weather forecast for Almaty and Astana for August 15, 16 and 17.

According to the forecast, the weather in Astana and Almaty will differ significantly in the coming days. Temperatures in the capital will begin to fall and by August 17 will drop to +10…+12°C at night, while Almaty will continue to experience intense heat of up to +37°C.

Weather in Astana

August 15 — partly cloudy, with no precipitation. Temperatures will range from +17°C to +19°C at night and from +33°C to +35°C during the day. Southeasterly winds will shift to northwesterly, reaching 9–14 metres per second.

August 16 — partly cloudy, with intermittent rain and thunderstorms. Temperatures will range from +16°C to +18°C at night and from +23°C to +25°C during the day. Northwesterly winds will reach 9–14 metres per second, with nighttime gusts of up to 15–18 metres per second.

August 17 — no precipitation is expected. Temperatures will fall to +10°C to +12°C at night and reach +20°C to +22°C during the day. Northwesterly winds will reach 7–12 metres per second, with daytime gusts of up to 15 metres per second.

Weather in Almaty

August 15 — partly cloudy, with no precipitation. Temperatures will range from +22°C to +24°C at night and from +35°C to +37°C during the day. Westerly winds will reach 3–8 metres per second.

August 16 and 17 — no precipitation is expected. Temperatures will range from +22°C to +24°C at night, while intense heat of +34°C to +36°C will persist during the day. Southeasterly winds will reach 3–8 metres per second.
