250 Kazakhstanis already penalized: Interior Ministry warns fans of nighttime fireworks

Tengrinews.kz — Setting off fireworks in the courtyards of apartment buildings can lead not only to complaints from neighbors but also to legal consequences. The Interior Ministry has reported how many Kazakhstanis have already been penalized for violations involving pyrotechnics.

251 people already held accountable

According to the Interior Ministry, 251 people were held accountable for violations related to the use and handling of pyrotechnic products during the first seven months of 2026.

Of these, 237 were penalized for using pyrotechnics in populated areas. Another 14 were punished for violating rules governing their storage, use, transportation and sale.

The highest number of such cases was recorded in major cities. In Astana, 74 people were held accountable, while in Almaty the figure was 58.

Setting off fireworks in a courtyard can cause problems

Police reminded the public that pyrotechnic products may only be used in populated areas if established requirements are observed. There are no legal exemptions for holidays, meaning that a festive occasion does not exempt people from complying with the rules.

The Interior Ministry recommends paying particular attention to safety. The use of uncertified pyrotechnics and violations of safety rules can lead to injuries and fires.

Nighttime fireworks can disturb neighbors

The Interior Ministry also reminded the public about noise regulations. Since the beginning of the year, more than 79,000 noise-related violations have been recorded across Kazakhstan, and more than 78,000 people have already been held accountable.

Police urged people to consider the interests of others when celebrating, purchase only certified pyrotechnics and follow safety requirements.

Festive fireworks should not become a cause of injuries, fires or disturbance to other people.
