Amazon adding 2,250 full-time jobs with first New York fulfillment center
Amazon.com Inc. said Wednesday that it will add 2,250 full-time jobs through a new fulfillment center in Staten Island, NY, the first fulfillment center in the state, in one of the city's five boroughs. Staffers will work alongside robotics to pack, pick and ship household goods, books, and toys, the company said. Amazon shares are up 0.4% in premarket trading, and up 28.7% for the year so far. The S&P 500 index is up 9.8% for 2017 to date.
