Man arraigned in July slaying near Philadelphia
HAVERFORD, Pa. (AP) — A man already accused of having fired shots at a group in Philadelphia has been arraigned on first-degree murder and other charges in a slaying less than an hour later near the city.
Twenty-four-year-old Derrick Rollins is also charged with aggravated assault, robbery and firearms crimes in the July 29 slaying of 29-year-old John Le in Haverford Township.
Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan told reporters Wednesday that authorities "cannot even begin to imagine" the reason for the killing of Le, who was on his way to a friend's house.
Philadelphia authorities allege that Rollins earlier fired 17 shots in Overbrook Park, injuring two men. He was arrested last month in Georgia.
