(AP) — Kansas is cutting off Medicaid reimbursements to Planned Parenthood's regional affiliate, a health department spokeswoman confirmed Wednesday, with the action based largely on allegations against the abortion provider's affiliates in other states. The state Department of Health and Environment sent a letter Tuesday to Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri, saying that the organization was being terminated as a provider under the state's Medicaid program as of next week, agency spokeswoman Cassie Sparks said. Marine returns home to Traverse City after 7th deployment

(AP) — A U.S. Marine from Traverse City has returned home after serving eight months in his latest tour overseas. A group of supporters gathered with flags and signs at the Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City to give the Marine his first real homecoming. Grand Traverse Area Veterans Coalition President John Lefler helped organize the homecoming for Minor, which he believes represents the community's appreciation for all U.S. military members and veterans. Sam Minor is a Traverse City West Senior High School graduate.
