The Good Place has a novelistic concept that sets it apart from the standard workplace or family or friends-hanging-out sitcom. Michael doesn't know that Eleanor is causing all this to happen, and she wants to keep it that way. Each episode is still packed with jokes, but there's the added dimension of a dramatic storytelling flourish at the end. The Good Place kicks off with a special preview Monday, Sept. 19 at 10/9c after The Voice, and has its official series premiere Thursday, Sept. 22 at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.

Mr. Robot just aired its weirdest episode yet -- and that's saying a lot. In Season 2's penultimate episode, we got Elliot (Rami Malek) lucid dreaming so he could spy on Mr. Robot (Christian Slater), the possible return of Tyrell (Martin Wallstrom), an emotional heart-to-heart with a bluetooth speaker and Angela (Portia Doubleday) getting interrogated by a mini-me in what appeared to be Whiterose's (B.D. Wong) version of the Black Lodge from Twin Peaks.

Representing his city authentically is essential to Glover -- a rapper himself under the name Childish Gambino -- and he casts real Atlanta personalities in his show about the rap game and the trap game in the cultural capital of the South. Tip "T.I." Harris is an Atlanta rapper who popularized trap, the hip-hop subgenre performed by younger rappers like Migos and Atlanta's central rapper Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry), before branching out into other pursuits like starring in a reality show about his life T.I. & Tiny... Chapter One felt like a red herring all the way through: why hide this season's subject and setting in the marketing if the revealed story's just going to be about a city couple on a paranormal TV show telling the audience about how their fresh start in a creepy country house turned ghostly? Whether a set of bizarre children or a messed-up doll or bugs show up remains to be seen, but we at least know that Matt (Andre Holland) and Shelby (Lily Rabe) are a married couple who at one point miscarried following an act of senseless city violence...
