The Democratic governor, members of the congressional delegation and others are promoting this weekend's "Small Business Saturday" with the Small Business Administration. The group visited small businesses in Newport, Rhode Island, on Tuesday to encourage people to do the same in their communities on the busiest shopping weekend of the year for many people.
The hike initially prompted a rally in the value of the Turkish lira but it then lost ground after the European Parliament voted to freeze EU membership talks with Turkey.
